The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) in Mpumalanga is currently traveling to the Fernie two Local community Hall in Mpuluzi to render providers towards the community.

SASSA will be rendering providers which include new social grant applications, change of payment method, customer care enquiries, together with the Social Relief of Distress (SRD) COVID-19 grant enquiries.

In a press release, the agency stated it really is alarmed with regard to the high quantity of people relying on social grants for survival.
“The aim from the Integrated Registration Outreach Programme [ICROP] is to reach-out to some higher amount of clients/beneficiaries to access SASSA services.

“That is as a result of lack of infrastructure at Fernie and there's no completely functional office devoted to service the area on a regular basis. The service position produced for intervention encounters a high influx of potential beneficiaries, which makes it complicated to the Workplace to attend to all people who pay a status sassa visit to a service point.

“In this reach-out programme, SASSA will mobilise extra sources to permit the servicing of all prospects and increase access to Social Assistance website providers,” the agency said.

For more information, community members can call toll free during working days/hours on SRD 0800 60 10 11 and WhatsApp on 082 046 8553. - SAnews.gov.za
